08-05-2017
Submit your input to the preparation of the draft guidelines on the effective implementation of the right to participate in public affairs!

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is currently working on the draft guidelines on the effective implementation of the right to participate in public affairs, a task from the UN Human Rights Council 2016 Public Participation Resolution.

Deadline is now extended to May 25.

Suggestions should be limited to 5 pages and sent to OHCHR. OHCHR will also organize five regional workshops around the globe to facilitate discussion and input for the draft guidelines.

The first regional consultation for the Americas is scheduled for 13 and 14 June, 2017 in Chile. ECNL, through Civic Space Initiative, is supporting the process of drafting these important guidelines that will hopefully enhance effective implementation, address existing gaps and ensure this right in practice.
