Participating CSOs discussed opportunities offered by the law as well as identified challenges they face during application.

To contribute to the improved sustainability of civil society through the application of innovations of the Law on Associations and Foundations, three information events were organized in September in Macedonia. Ms. Emina Nuredinoska from MCIC presented relevant international practice and national legislation to the audience, and focused on the practice of economic activities and the implementation of public benefit status.

Discussions revealed that CSOs would welcome manuals on economic activities and PBO. They also recommended that further informational events and trainings are arranged for CSO accountants as well as for employees of state institutions, primarily the Central Registry and Public Revenue Office of the Republic of Macedonia.

The events were organized within the project "The NGO Legal Enabling Environment Program (LEEP)", implemented by MCIC, ECNL and ICNL, and supported by USAID and PACT.
