04-06-2014
The report contains key findings generated from the country reports which monitored the legal framework and practical implementation of the policies and laws under the Matrix.

On May 27, ECNL and BCSDN presented the regional report under the Monitoring Matrix on Enabling Environment for Civil Society Development, in Brussels. The Matrix, developed by ECNL in collaboration with BCSDN experts defines principles, standards and indicators to facilitate the monitoring of the progress in creating an enabling environment for civil society development in the Western Balkans and Turkey.

The regional findings, which was presented at the workshop by ECNL’s and BCNL’s Executive Directors, are the results of extensive monitoring conducted by BCSDN’s members including ECNL’s experts. The Report also puts forward specific recommendations about actions around the key priorities in the region, as well as concrete recommendations for EU support.

The Matrix has been recognized by the EC DG Enlargement in development of its own Guidelines for support to civil society in Enlargement countries, 2014-2020 and the monitoring data will be used as means of verification for the EC Progress Report assessments for 2014-2015. ECNL provided overall key expertise and strategic support during the development of the Matrix and the country reports.

All reports are available on the newly established web platform http://monitoringmatrix.net/.
