Bosnia enacts VAT Law

01-01-2006
The law on VAT came into force on January 1, 2006, as part of Bosnia's efforts to bring its tax framework in line with the one of the European Union, notably the EU Sixth Directive on VAT.

The Law provides for a singe tax rate of 17% and mandates any NGO (or for that matter another legal entity or entrepreneur) with a turnover in prior fiscal year over 50,000 KM (cca 25,000 euro), or with a projected turnover exceeding this threshold in the current fiscal year, to register as VAT payer.
