The Human Rights Council (HRC) resolution on civil society space, adopted at the 32nd session in July 2016, requests the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to prepare a report on good practices and challenges of civil society involvement with regional and international organizations.
The OHCHR is now inviting contributions for this forthcoming report.You can find additional information and submit your input in English or French on the OHCHR's website until 1 May 2017.
This is an important mechanism for the voices of the people to be heard at regional and international level. ECNL has been supporting the OHCHR in its work on the right to participation. Most recently ECNL/ICNL and partners under the Civic Space Initiative convened a side event at the 33rd session of the HRC on this topic with the participation of 7 notable speakers from different regions, who outlined main recommendations for the framework and scope of the report.
