The manual was developed by Mr. Zvonimir Mataga, advisor at the European Court of Human Rights. The Handbook discusses the freedom of association as regulated under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and the European Court case law, specifically the scope of freedom to association, restrictions to the rights that derive, state responsibilities, protection before the European Court and the relationship between this freedom and other freedoms and rights under ECHR.
