The Carpathian Compact's goal is to expand socially rational business practices that enhance shareholder value by addressing humanistic, social, environmental, historical and cultural challenges facing the citizens of the Carpathian Euroregion.
The Carpathian Foundation convened the Carpathian Compact General Assembly in Bucharest on November 3, 2005. The Carpathian Compact was launched in June 2005. The Carpathian Compact General Assembly aimed to better define the framework for Economic Development and Corporate Social Responsibility in the Carpathian Euroregion and to set forth a concrete plan of action - the Carpathian Compact.
ECNL's Legal Advisor, Katerina Hadzi-Miceva, moderated the session on Legal and Fiscal Environment and provided an overview of the legal and fiscal environment for philanthropy focusing on the Visegrad countries, Romania and Ukraine.
