27-03-2025
Over 100 civil society organisations and 40 individual experts put forth a joint statement to operationalise the WSIS+20 review modalities.

This year marks the 20-year review of the landmark World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20), a UN summit whose goal is to build a people-centered, inclusive and development-oriented society, where everyone can create, access, utilise and share information.

As engaged stakeholders in the WSIS+20 Review process, over 100 CSOs and 40 experts submit the following recommendations to help operationalise the WSIS+20 review modalities to ensure transparency, inclusivity and meaningful engagement. These include:

  1. Publish a clear and inclusive timeline;
  2. Ensure transparency and accountability;
  3. Facilitate inclusive and meaningful stakeholder consultations;
  4. Broaden and diversify participation;
  5. Maximise inclusive participation in final negotiations.
