Have your say in the AI regulation debate! Deadline – May 9, 2021

ECNL supports civil society engagement through a written guide on how to answer CAHAI consultation survey and a workshop series on AI and human rights.

ECNL is participating in the Council of Europe Ad Hoc Committee on AI (CAHAI) process and inciting civil society engagement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) regulatory debate.

CAHAI is tasked to work on regulatory framework for AI. This is very much a human rights and civic freedoms issue, not only technology. CAHAI has now launched an online survey, open to all external stakeholders, providing an opportunity to shape the future Council of Europe legal instrument on AI.

ECNL has drafted a short written guide to support CSOs, particularly those not specialized in digital rights, to assist you when responding to the survey. We are also organizing a workshop series in April on AI and its impact on human rights for all interested CSOs – especially those that don’t traditionally engage in digital rights or technology – as we believe that these voices are critical yet often neglected or excluded from these debates.

If you’re interested in participating ECNL’s introductory course on AI and human rights on April 15 and 29, please fill out this quick google form.

Please share this with your partners, colleagues and any other interested CSOs that would be able to contribute to more civic voices in AI governance! And don’t forget – the deadline for survey submission on this link is May 9, 2021.
