ECNL extracted key issues from each of the comprehensive country reports that monitor legal developments and practical implementation of freedom of assembly in Western Balkans countries into five user-friendly flashcards. The flashcards were designed to be useful tools for local partners to engage in in-country advocacy and reform.
The brief publications
- feature up to five issues per country,
- provide a summary of the problematic issues, and
- describe relevant international standards and offer recommendations on how they should be implemented.

The ‘Western Balkans Assembly Monitor’ project was made possible by the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law through the Civic Space Initiative, funded by SIDA. The project was implemented in 2015 and 2016 by Reactor in Macedonia, Civil Rights Defenders in Bosnia, Human Rights House in Croatia, Institute Alternative in Montenegro and YUCOM in Serbia, under the overall coordination of ECNL.
