Government Strategy for Civil Society adopted in Croatia

The Strategy defines the Government commitment to foster development and cooperation in several fields.

The Croatian Government adopted a Strategy for Creation of an Enabling Environment for Development of Civil Society and Operational Plan (2007-2011) to implement the Strategy. The Strategy defines the Government commitment to foster development and cooperation in several fields, including:

  • participation of citizens in policy-making,
  • legal framework for civil society,
  • institutional framework for development of civil society,
  • financing of CSOs,
  • development of philanthropy, volunteering and foundations,
  • development of civil society in regional and international context.

The Operational Plan defines concrete activities and legislation which needs to be adopted, with precisely defined time-framework and organizations responsible for implementation of individual activities.
