Meeting on public participation with local public authorities in Olanesti, Moldova

To promote public participation on the local level ECNL through its partner in Moldova, Eco-TIRAS, organized a meeting with local public authorities and representatives of the village community in Olanesti on June 3, 2008. The event provided an overview of potential areas of cooperation for CSOs and local authorities and referred to the existing legal frameworks for local level cooperation. One of the examples referred to were recently adopted regulations on mechanisms for cooperation between local public authorities and civil society in Galesti village in Moldova.

The meeting was supported under ECNL's project “Strengthening the Legal Framewok for Citizen Action”, financed by the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR).
