The public consultation was launched on in April 2011. It attracted input from 187 respondents. ECNL prepared its submission to the Consultation, which is available at the DG Justice webpage among others.
The Consultation addressed the issues of policy objectives, necessity of the European added value, simplification of funding mechanisms, potential recepients of funding and types of funding mechanisms.
Based on the outcomes of the Consultation the Proposal for Regulation on establishing the Rights and Citizenship Programme (2014-2020) was prepared. The new Programme will combine current elements: Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, Daphne III and the sections "Anti-discrimination and Diversity" and "Gender Equality" of the Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity (PROGRESS).
