Every day, activists use protests to raise attention to important issues and connect with those whose support they need for advancing their causes. Sometimes this is happening when authorities have already ignored, dismissed or deliberately side-lined protesters' perspective.

Conflict and disruption is a difficult context in which to make persuasive arguments and win new supporters, but it is possible.

Our new guide provides tips and examples for activists on how to identify their priorities during busy and difficult moments. It showcases ideas of how activists can frame their messages and organise activities to make a moment of conflict into a persuasive opportunity. It also covers protests from around the world concerning different issues and cultural contexts, where activists have successfully got their messages across.
