Published by the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation, ECNL's paper introduces the existing models that promote cooperation and inclusion, and highlights how they can contribute to a better cross-sectoral partnership and an effective collaboration and involvement of citizens and CSOs in the local decision-making processes and activities of local governments.
Developed by Eszter Hartay and Katerina Hadzi-Miceva Evans, the publication:
- provides an overview of the main European documents on CSO-local government cooperation as a compass for national legislation;
- reviews the current state of cooperation in five countries - two European Union (England and Hungary) countries and three countries in the Balkans (Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina);
- seeks to introduce models which may be successfully adopted in the practice of the local governments.
The publication was made possible by the generous support of the European Union. It is available in English and in Macedonian.
