Extended deadline: research fellowships to support an enabling legal framework for civil society

The programme is designed to provide opportunities to engage practitioners and scholars to advance the legal environment for civil society.

The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), with the generous funding support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), is pleased to announce the availability of 4 research fellowships. The fellowships will provide the opportunity to travel to ICNL’s offices in Washington, DC, or Budapest, Hungary, for three to four weeks to conduct research on the legal framework for civil society.

The fellowships are open to applicants from: Albania, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Botswana, China, Ecuador, Egypt, Haiti, Indonesia, Kosovo, Laos, Moldova, Mongolia, Panama, Rwanda, Sudan and Southern Sudan, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, West Bank and Gaza, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe

This is an action-oriented fellowship. It is designed to provide opportunities to engage practitioners and scholars to advance the legal environment for civil society by providing them with:

  • support and expertise of ICNL’s international staff;
  • access to our extensive library of NGO legal materials; and
  • meetings with NGO representatives, academics and others in the field.

ICNL will cover the cost of travel to and from the host city as well as room and board for the agreed-upon time period. No honoraria will be offered. The extended deadline to apply is May 2, 2011. To apply online visit ICNL's webpage.
