The first annual inter-regional learning exchange conference in October in the UN buffer zone of Nicosia.
Around 200 participants from Cyprus, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, representing 28 countries attended the conference and shared experiences and knowledge on the role of citizens and civil society in stimulating positive social change in periods of transition.
The overall aim of the conference was to develop inter-regional partnership proposals which were presented during the conference. The 3 ideas which received the most votes were awarded with a grant in the amount of 30,000 USD/proposal. The three-day conference was convened by Peace it Together, the Cypriot civil society network and was supported by UNDP, USAID, CYINDEP, the EU, Friederich Ebert Foundation, and World Vision.
