BS Europe and a local partner, Civil Society Support Team organized a seminar on the enabling environment for CSOs in North Cyprus between March 12 and 13. The two-day seminar focused on a range of issues pertinent to the legal, financial and institutional framework for NGOs. In addition, the second day of the seminar focused on capacity building for NGOs, in particular with respect to public advocacy.
Participants were exposed to successful primary of public advocacy in the UK, Croatia and Serbia, but also shared local examples of successful advocacy campaign. In addition to Dragan Golubovic of ECNL, other foreign presenters included Liz Atkins of the UK National Council of Volunteer Organizations and Mladen Ivanovic of the Association of Municipalities of Croatia.
