Training on policy writing held in Armenia

Civil society activists and ministries' officials could learn more about how to compile an effective policy paper and find out about international practices of policy paper writing and how it influences decision making.

Within the EIDHR project ECNL arranged a two days' training on policy writing. The training titled Producing Effective Policy Papers was delivered by certified OSI Local Government and Public Service Reform Initiative trainers in Yerevan, Armenia, on September 29-30, 2008.

The goal of the workshop was to equip participants with the knowledge and resources to develop their skills in writing effective policy papers to communicate a targeted and compelling policy position and ensure a transparent and participatory approach for all stakeholders. The workshop convened sixteen participants who represented public and state sector. The topic of public participation was especially emphasized during the training.

This training was carried out within the framework of the EIDHR project on "Strengthening Legal Framework for Citizen Action through Freedom of Association".
