In December 2009, the Serbian Government submitted a Proposal for Revisions in Enterprise Profit Tax Law to the Parliament. The Proposal is not reflective of the reform proposal, which ECNL had prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Finance, and which sought to support corporate philanthropy in Serbia. At the request of our key Serbian partner, Civic Initiatives (CI), on December 23 ECNL prepared amendments to the Government’s Proposal, which CI, BCIF and other local CSOs will disseminate among members of Parliament; advocacy efforts will then follow to support the introduction of the amendments to the floor of Parliament.
