Conference on the legal status of public benefit organisations in Bosnia and Herzegovina

20-06-2006
The conference explored existing challenges, including vague regulation and lack of tax benefits.

In collaboration with the Lex International, ICNL hosted a conference on the legal status of public benefit organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event took place in Banja Luka, on June 20th, 2006. The primary purpose of the conference was to address problems relating to the status of public benefit organizations (PBOs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the lack of tax benefits for PBOs at the state level and conflicting and multiplied sources of their regulation in the Republic of Srpska. ICNL's brochure that addresses the PBO status from a comparative review, which was recently published in Bosnian was distributed at the event as well. ICNL is also planning on hosting a similar event in Sarajevo, in the fall.

This event and the publication of the public benefit brochure was made possible thanks to generous support of USAID Bosnia.
