On May 31, 2006, the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law (BCNL) hosted a roundtable discussion on the topic "Laws on 1% - Mechanisms and Practices?" The event provided an opportunity for representatives of CSOs, Ministry of Finance and the National Revenue Agency to discuss the experiences from implementation of the percentage laws around the region. In addition, an analysis of the economic impact of adopting the 1% law in Bulgaria was presented and discussed. The discussion was organized under the Project “An Optimistic Look at CSOs and Local Resources”, funded by the Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe, implemented by BCNL in partnership with the Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation. ECNL representative, Katerina Hadzi-Miceva took part in the event by providing overview of the percentage laws in the region and experiences from their implementation.
