ECNL and the Balkan Civil Society Development Network co-organized a regional workshop on state financing of CSOs with the participation of CSO and government representatives on 13-14 November in Novi Sad, Serbia.
The workshop provided an opportunity for the presentation of the preliminary results of the Annual Country Monitoring Reports based on the Monitoring Matrix as well as the annual Report on Public funding of CSOs prepared by the Serbian Office for Cooperation.
ECNL experts were involved in designing the methodology and leading sessions around European trends of state financing, public procurement and proceeds from lotteries. The ultimate aim of the workshop was to map out the bottlenecks of state funding in the represented countries and agree on the next steps that can be taken to overcome the challenges both on national and regional level.
