On October 19, 2007, Civic Initiatives (CI) and ECNL hosted a presentation of the "Manual on Tax and Accounting Issues Impacting on NGOs in Serbia", which was prepared by the pool of domestic experts. Government officials, foreign donors, and representatives of prominent NGOs participated in the promotion.
The Manual is meant to be a resource book for NGOs that struggle to find answers on tax and accounting issues impacting on their every day operations. It was the first of the kind in Serbia. The hosts (CI and ECNL) also utilized the promotion to highlight critical issues in the tax framework for NGOs that call for further legislative action, and which were identified in the Manual. First 500 copies of publication have already been given away to interested parties. Due to high demands, the printing of extra 500 copies is under way.
The Manual is prepared and published trough the Institute for Sustainable Communities' five-year project: Serbia Civil Society Advocacy Initiative.
