The Funding will be distributed based on the principles included in the Code of Good Practices for Financial Support of CSOs, which was developed as a result on the adopted Strategy for Cooperation with the Civil Sector (2007-2013). The Strategy and the Code are key steps towards strengthening cross-sector cooperation and ensuring transparent distribution of state funding in Macedonia.
ECNL served as an expert consultant to the working group assisting the Government Secretariat and the Government Unit for Cooperation with NGOs in developing the Strategy for Cooperation and subsequently the Code of Good Practices for Financial Support of CSOs. The Code was part of a package for reform of mechanisms for governmental funding to NPOs which were suggested by the local consultants.
The project was implemented by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (Macedonia) and COWI A/S (Denmark); it was funded by the European Agency for Reconstruction.
