The draft law aims to improve the environment for operation and sustainability of NGOs.
The Macedonian Government adopted the proposal of the new Law on Associations and Foundations. The draft law aims to improve the environment for operation and sustainability of NGOs by allowing legal entities and foreigners to establish associations; allowing direct economic activities, clarifying rules on governance and introducing status of public benefit organizations. Since 2003 ECNL supported the Ministry of Justice and local partners to develop the draft. The draft law is on the Parliament agenda in March.
